Baildon Plan Update 2019

BAILDON PLAN 2019 IS NOW PUBLISHED.

In the autumn of 2018, 459 Baildon residents completed a questionnaire about the issues which they considered the most important for Baildon. The results have now been analysed and incorporated into the updated "BAILDON PLAN 2019". Copies of The Plan are available from the Library; Wesleys; Baildon Community Link; St Hugh's; St James; and Bracken Hall Countryside Centre, or you can read the updated Plan by following the link above.

The overall results of the survey confirm that the issues which Baildon Town Council and partner agencies have been focusing on in recent years, are in line with the issues and concerns of residents that took part in the survey.

The Town Council recognises that continued "listening" is needed throughout the coming years, particularly to some sections of our community whose voices are not always easily heard. In addition, there will be new and unanticipated challenges and opportunities that arise. Nonetheless the Town Council will use the priorities within The Baildon Plan 2019 to underpin its work, going forward.

The top 4 issues that came out of the survey are:

1. Promoting crime prevention and community safety.
2. Tackling litter and fly-tipping.
3. Protecting and enhancing public and green spaces.
4. Supporting local businesses and job creation.

Baildon Town Council needs the help of all local residents to address these, and all the other priorities within The Plan. For example, you might feel inspired to start or join a Neighbourhood Watch Group on your street. You might join one of the litter-picking expeditions, or offer to keep an eye out for and pick up any litter near where you live. You might wish to help "Baildon in Bloom" or the team of volunteers at Hall Cliffe Community Garden. And we can all assist local businesses by "BUYING LOCAL".

Thank you to all those who took part in the survey, and to all of you who in so many ways contribute to addressing the priority issues, so as to make Baildon an even better place to live.
