Improvements at Fairbank Wood

Baildon Town Council is delighted to be able to fund some of the improvements being undertaken by the Baildon Green Community Association at Fairbank Wood (also known as Knoll Wood), Green Lane, Baildon. A meeting of the Council's Environment Committee on 26th October granted a sum of just over £1900 to match funding from Bradford Council.

Baildon Town Council is seeking a contractor to undertake a range of environmental maintenance tasks throughout Baildon, based on an annual contract of 34 days' work per year initially. Baildon Town Council provide more grit bins for Baildon

Baildon Town Council reached out to residents regarding the need for more grit bins in the area. The Town Council is now providing an extra 15 bins, bringing the total to 30. We have also worked to replenish the grit stocks in existing bins during the recent icy weather.

Supporting the Bill For Local Electricity

Baildon Town Council supports the Local Electricity Bill Campaign by Power for People organisation. We believe that the bill will give greater benefit to local communities as well as helping to tackle the current climate emergency. On Saturday 14 March the Baildon Tree Partnership had another successful planting event. Two hundred trees were planted by volunteers on land near the playground at Roberts Park in Baildon.

A good week for the Baildon Tree Planting Partnership

The Baildon Tree Partnership had a fantastic week last week. During Wednesday afternoon (26 Feb) and Saturday (29 Feb) nearly 500 trees were planted on a field to the west of Glenaire Primary School just off Thompson Lane.
