Baildon Horticultural Society Newsletter April 2021
Attached is the latest newsletter from the Baildon Horticultural Society. Lots of advice on what to do this month in the garden and on the allotment and articles for those interested in bee or poultry keeping. Also some very appealing recipes - rhubarb crumble muffins and rhubarb bread and butter pudding for example plus a cheap and tasty pasta dish from Napoli. Enjoy!

Local Precept Details for 2021/22 Council Year
For the year 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, Baildon Town Council has set a local precept (share of the Council Tax) of £48.83 for a Band D property. This is a 0% increase on the precept set in the previous year. Baildon Town Council's response to the Bradford District Local Plan
Baildon Town Council submitted its response to the Bradford District Local Plan to the planning department at Bradford Council yesterday. A copy of the response, which was compiled and agreed by the Planning Committee, is attached. Friends of Baildon Station (FOBS) Annual Meeting - all welcome
The Friends of Baildon Station (FOBS) group is holding it's annual meeting on Monday March 22nd at 7pm via Zoom. The agenda, minutes and a plan for the year are attached. FOBS members work tirelessly to improve both Baildon Station and the rail service for Baildon. Baildon Town Council provide more grit bins for Baildon
Baildon Town Council reached out to residents regarding the need for more grit bins in the area. The Town Council is now providing an extra 15 bins, bringing the total to 30. We have also worked to replenish the grit stocks in existing bins during the recent icy weather.

Baildon Town Council Supports the Climate and Ecological Alliance Bill
Baildon Town Council resolved to add their support to the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill Alliance, a group of concerned scientists, academics, lawyers and campaigners who are calling on the UK Government to tackle the climate emergency in an urgent and effective manner.

Supporting the Bill For Local Electricity
Baildon Town Council supports the Local Electricity Bill Campaign by Power for People organisation. We believe that the bill will give greater benefit to local communities as well as helping to tackle the current climate emergency. The bill is currently supported by 241 MPs and we have written to MP Philip Davies to ask that he lend his support to the campaign.

The Annual Report of the Baildon Walkers are Welcome group is attached. It includes details of the events the group still managed to run despite lockdown and also the self-guided walks that have been uploaded to their website to help people to get out and about during the restrictions.
