The Baildon Mechanics Institute has a modest income available for distribution by the Charity Trustees, in consultation with Baildon Ward Councillors, for "charitable purposes for the general benefit of the inhabitants of the former Urban District of Baildon for which provision is not made out of rates, taxes or other public funds". The long term future of Baildon's popular farmers' market has been secured with the formation of a new Community Interest Company to take over its running. Baildon Town Council has just completed the handover to the new company, which has been formed by some of the original volunteers who helped set up the market in 2012.

Police are appealing for information about an incident which is alleged to have happened in the Buck Lane area of Baildon at about 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).
A crime of assault has been recorded in relation to this matter and is being investigated by Bradford District CID.
The victim, a 15-year-old girl, was shaken but unhurt.
