Update from Bradford Council on Baildon Library and Ian Clough Hall

Update from Bradford Council on Baildon Library and Ian Clough Hall

Update on Baildon Library and Ian Clough Hall: November 2021 From Bradford Council

As you may be aware, the Ian Clough Hall building, including the current Library premises, is planned to be demolished and the site redeveloped.

In the meantime, Bradford Council's Estates department has stipulated that, due to Health & Safety concerns with the building, the library cannot fully reopen in its current location.

An Order & Collect service has been available at the Library for some time, and we are now pleased to announce a gradual increase in our service offer within the Health and Safety limits of the building.

From Monday 8th November, up to 10 customers at a time will be able to browse Baildon Library's shelves. We intend then to extend opening hours, with a view to enabling limited PC access and welcoming back Story & Rhyme times over the next few months.

Work is ongoing to secure a new temporary location (for the duration of the building works) and a permanent location for Baildon Library. Bradford Council wishes to reassure residents that we remain committed to the future of Baildon Library.

We would like to thank our customers for your patience during this time, and to thank our partners at Baildon Town Council for their support in helping us to run the library and to plan for its long term future.

Updates will continue to be published on Bradford Council's and Baildon Town Council's websites and made available at the Library.

Please be aware that Library staff and volunteers at Baildon Library do not have access to any additional information about the future of the Library or the Ian Clough Hall site other than is already publically accessible.
