Statement on Hallcliffe and the Planning Meeting 13th October 2021
The scheduled meeting of the Planning Committee on Wednesday the 13th of October is cancelled. The meeting is re-scheduled to Wednesday the 20th of October at 7pm - venue to be confirmed.
Further to the statement issued by Baildon Town Council on the 13th of September, re support for a one-way system on Hallcliffe, we can confirm that no public consultation by Bradford Council has taken place to date.
A directive from Public Health and Bradford Council's Executive, placed Covid – 19 regulations on 77 locations in Bradford at the beginning of the pandemic and this included a social distancing scheme on Hallcliffe. At no time was this measure viewed by Bradford Council as a public consultation on a future one-way system for Hallcliffe.
Bradford Council's Highway Authority remain the holder of legal powers to host a fair and equitable public consultation scheme with residents of Baildon and at this time, no date has been set to do so.
There will be no changes to the current use of Hallcliffe, until a consultation is completed, when the balance of findings will allow Bradford Council to make an informed decision on the future of Hallcliffe.
