Baildon Tree Planting Partnership Update

Organised and managed by Baildon resident Richard Nottidge, the Tree Planting Partnership has started planning this season's planting events.

On 27 November 2019 a successful ceremonial planting event was held where a specimen Mountain Ash sapling was planted by District Councillor Vick Jenkins and Glenaire school children at the junction of Thompson Lane and Green Lane.

A launch event is planned for Saturday 18th January 2pm to 4pm at the St Hugh's Centre on Coach Road (see attached poster). There will be a guest speaker, craft activities for children, planting plans on display and a display by the Baildon Zero Waste group.

Initial tree planting dates are:

01/02/20 Nature Trail west of Roberts Park - 30 saplings

26/02/20 (Wednesday) Field next to Glenaire school. Glenaire & Salts Schools to be invited

29/02/20 Field next to Glenaire school

11/03/20 (Wednesday) Thompson Lane/ Green lane.

14/03/20 Riverside east of Roberts Park

We have a list already of over 40 volunteers but anyone who is interested in helping with the planting should contact the Town Council.
