New campaign by The Daily Mail and Keep Britain Tidy
Plastic littering and pollution is very much in the public's mind at the moment so Keep Britain Tidy has teamed up with the Daily Mail to run a new national campaign this May – the Great Plastic Pick Up.
We aim to inspire thousands of volunteers around the country to collect 15 million plastic bottles, plus a whole host of aluminium cans and general litter over the long weekend of 11th, 12th and 13th May. Plastic bottles and aluminium cans will be collected in separate bags to allow them to be recycled.
We have one simple ask – can the volunteers take their branded campaign bags to their local Waste Recycling Centre? They would present plastic bottles and aluminium cans for recycling and a few bags of general litter for the non-recyclable container. All in special campaign branded bags for ease of reference.
