Make sure you’re registered to vote in the Local Elections 2018

Make sure you're registered to vote in May

There are local elections in the Bradford district on Thursday, 3 May 2018. You need to be registered by 17 April so that you can vote on 3 May.

Who needs to register to vote?

If you have moved since you last registered to vote, or if you have never registered to vote, you will need to register now. If you are already registered to vote and your address has not changed, you do not need to register again to vote in May.

How to register to vote

The quickest way to register to vote is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. All you will need is your National Insurance number. Alternatively, you can phone our Electoral Services team on 01274 431360.

How to vote if you will be away on 3 May

If you will be away on 3 May, you can apply for a postal vote or you can appoint another person to vote on your behalf by applying for a proxy vote.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 18 April and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday 25 April.

Encourage others to register to vote

If you know other people who you think might need to register to vote, please pass this information on so that they can register by the 17 April deadline.
