Road Closures Around Baildon
Baildon Town Council have been informed by Danny Jackson, the Countryside and Rights of Way Manager of Bradford Council that the decision was taken yesterday to temporarily close to traffic Glen Road at Baildon and the Ilkley/Keighley Road over Rombalds Moors.

Bradford Council - more than £20 million paid out under the Small Business Grant Scheme
Bradford Council have released a statement about the first payments to businesses in the district being made under the Government's Small Business Grants fund. The one-off grants of £10,000 are aimed at helping eligible small businesses to meet on going business costs during the coronavirus pandemic. The full statement can be read here:

Community Hub Opens During Corona Virus Pandemic
For the last few weeks, Baildon Town Councillors and staff, Baildon Ward Councillors, Baildon Ward Officers, Baildon community development officers and staff from Baildon Community Link to name a few, have been working together with Bradford Council to create a local hub, to support the community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yesterday, 19 March 2020, Baildon Town Council's Governance Committee met to agree business continuity and contingency arrangements for the Town Council during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

On Saturday 14 March the Baildon Tree Partnership had another successful planting event. Two hundred trees were planted by volunteers on land near the playground at Roberts Park in Baildon.

Now Cancelled - Volunteers wanted for Acorn and 'Oakling' planting session at Bracken Hall Countryside Centre
Apologies but this is now cancelled as the organiser is having to self isolate.
Volunteers are needed by a local group for an Acorn and 'Oakling' planting session at Bracken Hall Countryside Centre 10am-12midday, Saturday 21st March. Baildon Town Council derives its income from multiple sources. The main source is what is known as the "precept". A good week for the Baildon Tree Planting Partnership
The Baildon Tree Partnership had a fantastic week last week. During Wednesday afternoon (26 Feb) and Saturday (29 Feb) nearly 500 trees were planted on a field to the west of Glenaire Primary School just off Thompson Lane. To reduce waste, recycled plastic tubes and ties were used to protect the trees from deer.
