Baildon Town Council

I am not a native-born Yorkshireman having started my life in the East Midlands. However, my wife was born in Yorkshire. As a family we moved to Yorkshire in the 1990's and apart from a spell on the Isle of Wight have lived in Baildon since then.

I work for a local company as a design and development engineer in electronics. The company develops and delivers systems around the world. One of my main interests is education and I am co-Chairman of a university Industrial Advisory Board. I have served as a County Councillor on two different authorities: I was Chairman of the advisory group on Libraries for one authority. I have been a school Governor for a number of schools.

Whilst on the Isle of Wight I served on the local parish council and was involved in the process of ensuring that the local library remained open run by volunteers when the authority took the decision to close rural libraries.
