Cllr Sarah Breen
Co-opted December 2020 - South Ward
I have lived in the Bradford District for 30 years and in Baildon for the last 4 years. I love living here: the outstanding scenery, the vibrant village centre and the strong sense of community. It is since lockdown, however, that I, like so many others, have come to appreciate Baildon and what it has to offer even more. I think that the shift to working from home and staying local must bring increased benefits to the local community, and once the economy is opened up fully again, the plan must be to try to further encourage people to buy local and hire local to keep money in the local economy.
I have recently retired from Bradford Council after a career of 25 years in Adult Social Care. I have seen the effects of years of funding cuts in this area and would like to work with the Town Council to support our residents, particularly focusing on the existing social issues, exacerbated by the Pandemic, of economic inequality and uncertainty, and loneliness and isolation.
I am really looking forward to working with the team at Baildon Town Council to try to help make Baildon an even better place to live and work.
