Cllr Gill Jennison
Co-opted December 2021 - East Ward
I stepped forward for co-option to the Town Council because I care about Baildon and would like to work with my fellow councillors to develop the village whilst sustaining its heritage.
I have lived in Baildon since 1983 and have loved our village since the first day I arrived here as a young wife and mother. We raised our 3 children here and they all attended local schools, with 2 of them still living in the village as adults. I value the village centre with its many shops and services provided from picturesque buildings, and I also enjoy walking on our beautiful moor. The sense of community spirit has always been strong for me.
My career was in special education, particularly for young adults, and I worked in senior leadership in several FE colleges. Latterly, I worked part time with the Bradford School Governor Service.
I am now retired from paid employment, although I am a willing helper with childcare for my two grandchildren. I am enjoying retirement and hobbies including: country walking, singing with a choir and Baildon Belles.
