Cllr Chris Flecknoe
I have enjoyed living in Baildon since 1982. I retired 6 years ago from a career in community development, working in local authorities and voluntary organisations. For the final 14 years of employment I was Bradford Council's Area Co-ordinator for Shipley, and chaired Neighbourhood Forums across the constituency, including in Baildon.
I served as a Town Councillor on Baildon Town Council from 2011-2015, and for two of these years, I was the Chair.
In retirement, I am pleased to be able to serve my community in a voluntary capacity. I am secretary to the Baildon Walkers are Welcome group; a part-time walks-leader for HF Holidays; an active member of Baildon Methodist Churchand of the Village Voices Choir; and I volunteer with the Baildon Parkinson's Support Group, BEACON, and Nightstop.
I have always been passionate about the importance of "community" – and am convinced that people are each other's greatest resource. By working together and sharing our experience, skills and ideas, we can find local solutions to local problems. I am keen to support local community activities, protect and enhance our environment, and help to preserve those facilities (statutory, voluntary, and businesses) which make Baildon such a good place to live.
