Baildon Station Bloomers

Can you help keep the tubs and planters at the station looking lovely?
Baildon Station Bloomers meet at the end of spring and autumn to plant up the tubs with summer and winter bedding plants and occasionally for weeding and deadheading - usually late morning on a Sunday.
They also have a rota for watering the plants during the warmer weather in summer.

Jill has been volunteering with Baildon Station Bloomers for a number of years:
"When I moved to Baildon in 2016, I was looking for a way of getting involved in the local community and making new friends. I went to a meeting of 'The Friends of Baildon Station' group. A lovely lady, Wendy Wolstenholme, was asking for volunteers to help renovate the flower beds at the station. Her enthusiasm was catching, and I joined her group. We worked really hard for the first year, clearing the weeds, cutting back the overgrown trees and digging and replanting the beds. It was great exercise out in the fresh air and lots of fun meeting other people with a love of gardening and the environment!
Wendy, sadly, passed away during lockdown and I promised her that I would keep the group going. I have very happy memories of her whilst I am at the station, and we get lots of appreciative comments from rail travellers. All in all, it is nice to feel useful and that I am contributing something to the local community."
